Maybe, if you want to leave it out. I usually take my Surface with me or lock it in my file cabinet.
(I don't know of a locking cable)

I notice that Surface does not appear to have a standard cable lock port like most laptops. How can I secure it from being stolen from my office? Do I have to attach a glue plate like http://www.maclocks.com/microsoft-surface-tablet-lock.html?
Thanks,
Jon

This was the best solution I've been able to find so far:
Glue on metal plate which provides a standard laptop cable lock port/slot:
I agree - Microsoft designers have rocks in their heads. The other aspect that really **** me off is the SD port which leaves the card sticking out like a sore thumb and prone to damage. The micro SD port on the Surface Pro is MUCH more practical. I am hoping someone will design an SD card that is 22 mm long instead of 32. There would be a big market I think.
this forum is for the Surface RT. The sd card slot on a surface rt is hidden behind the stand and does not "stick out". you should voice your feedback on the appropriate forum section.
It baffles me how this key feature could've been missed in the design stage! These are high end computers that are known to "walk away"! Why on earth did Microsoft leave them so vulnerable?!?!?!!!
I was looking for a solution to this problem and found this:

Looks a bit dorky -- has anyone found a more elegant solution?
Thanks,
