Just bought the surface pro 6 and type cover combo and noticed that holding the Fn key and press F-keys doesn't work. When I press the Fn key once to lock in Fn mode (light on), it doesn't work either. But when I press Fn key again to turn off the key lights, the F-keys now function as function key and can adjust brightness, volume and etc.
Is there it a setting problem or something is wrong with the hardware of this type cover keyboard?

>When the F Lock light is Off, alternate functions work (Help, Undo, and so on).
There are no Help or Undo functions on these typecovers. This is a generic
trouble shooting article not tailored for Surface typecovers.
Thank you. So it is normal that light ON means Fn options DISABLED. Light OFF means Fn options ENABLED. Just not very intuitive...
Hi Weebit3,
Thank you for posting us here in Microsoft Community! If your keyboard has an F Lock key, press it to toggle between the standard commands and alternate commands.
Just to clarify, when you toggle the Fn key Lock light is On. What specific key doesn't work? Also, what specific key doesn't work when you press and hold the Fn key?
Keep us posted so we can assist you further.
