Python on surface pro?

Hey

Probably not the best location for this post but I am limited in choices.

I'm going into my second year of a software engineering degree and was curious if the Surface Pro will be able to run languages such as python? I'm planning on buying the surface pro when it is released and using the surface more like an ultrabook than tablet and will be mainly using python although I will be learning C and Java this year.

If the surface is unable to do this I will need to look at getting a ultrabook from somewhere else...

thanks in advance,

James.

If the software will run on a Windows 8 computer, it'll work on the Surface Pro.

It actually will not run on my Surface----but I chose to get a really basic version so I don't know if that is why it won't download for me. If anyone knows a way to get around that you should let me in on them!

On a Surface RT, no software other than what is available in the Store will install.  That includes compilers!
