I have a Surface Pro 3 with a cracked digitizer. I currently cannot repair or replace the unit so I must deal with the cracked screen. I've disabled the touch functionality via the driver "HID-compliant touch screen" under Human Interface Devices in the Device manager.
Unfortunately this only disables touch once Windows is booted up. Due to the erroneous touches detected by the cracked screen during boot-up, the computer often locks up on the Surface splash screen.
I'd like to find a way to disable the touch screen via firmware at the "BIOS" level (I know there is no bios, but you know what I mean probably).
Can anyone help?

This works 95% of the time for me. Very rarely i will have to do it twice.
Thank you for the reply. I have been doing exactly that for a while now.
As it turns out you can disable the firmware through device manager under "Firmware - Surface touch". So far this is working.
