Surface Pro 3 touch screen driver

The latest automatic update is causing issues with my Surface pro 3's touchscreen, on both my tablet and my wife's (same issue, 2 separate surface pro 3's). Some regions of the touchscreen do not respond to finger touches, but still respond to pen input. I believe it is the most recent update that has caused this, as I reset my tablet to factory settings and everything worked fine again until Window's automatic updates installed the latest update. At which point I now have a region (basically the entire bottom of my screen where the touch keyboard pops up) that does not sense finger input. I have tried all of the methods listed on Microsoft's support page for unresponsive touch screens, such as disabling/enabling the driver, uninstalling and re-installing it, etc. to no avail. I cannot find an archived version of a previous driver to attempt to solve the problem myself. I tried to contact Microsoft for help but they want to charge me $40 to hear my complaint since my device is out of warranty.

My hope is this post will reach someone at Microsoft so they can fix what they broke. In the meantime, does anyone know of an archive where I can get a previous version of the touchscreen driver? Also, is anyone else having this issue?

Dangit, I accidentally marked that as helpful. As I said in the original post, I tried all of the steps provided by Microsoft before I ever made this post. The only thing that works is doing a full reset of my Surface to factory settings, which only works until Microsoft applies updates, at which point I'm back to having the same issue. I'm not about to reset my Surface to factory settings every day.
