I have been having with my new surface pro 4, no starting up, going into supposedly new bios and no kind of reset worked. I took surface pro 4 to the windows manhattan center and surprisingly it started and updated itself and then the touch screen is having a problem. One side of the screen won't respond and the technician is sure that its a software problem and took in my surface pro 4. Hope they are able to fix it.

I don't have a good feeling about surface pro 4... Please think before you buy and look up all the comment..

The SP4 is without any question the worst, most unreliable, computer I've ever owned or used.

Previously, I had an SP3, and although it had its flaws, it was one of the best computers I've ever owned.  (I'd say an old pre-Lenovo IBM ThinkPad would take the cake, there...)

I regret having the SP4 in my life at all, as mine simply ALMOST NEVER wakes when on battery power, especially if the keyboard cover is attached.  I had to force power-off and reboot on mine TWICE this morning.  This is completely unacceptable, especially for a device sold and advertised as usable for quick note-taking in OneNote.  This is the 21st flippin' century: sleep/wake is just supposed to WORK!

I really want to love the SP4, but I've come to the conclusion that it's a giant steaming pile of gooey, stinky **** that neither Microsoft or Intel is capable of fixing, nor is either company even willing to own up to the very serious problems with Skylake in the SP4 (and apparently, the Surface Book as well...)

Like I said, I really want to love it - but I HATE THIS COMPUTER - IT MAKES MY LIFE MUCH HARDER AND MORE FRUSTRATING!!!!  Obviously, that's not what I buy a computer for.

BTW, I'm on my second SP4, after my first one got so corrupted (after I had to force power-off and reboot) that it refused to run ANY modern apps, including Settings, Activity Center, or even the Start Menu.  The Microsoft Store tried for two days to fix it and finally gave up and swapped me out for a new one.  I got this one on 2/17, so it immediately got the 2/17 firmware update, and has been a living **** the entire time I've owned it.

This is the most frustrating, least useful, and least reliable computer ever...

The Surface Pro 4 is the only machine with which I've had serous usability issues.  The touch screen stops functioning for 10 seconds at a time; same with the type cover touch pad.  The display endures periods of distorted color and driver failure.  Finally the battery life is about 50% of advertised.

Over the years I've had many notebooks & tablets.  Never have I had a device with so many issues as with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.  My non-Microsoft tablets, desktops and servers have not had a single usability issue.  Why did Microsoft release a product with so many issues?  These serious issues seemingly are not being addressed by Microsoft.  Complaints are addressed with "are your patches up to date" then ignored.  Based on my experience with this "not ready for prime time" product, I will NEVER purchase a Microsoft hardware product again.  I've been a Microsoft user since being an alpha tester for the original NT and a Windows 2 user prior to that.  My next device (and my company's infrastructure will be based on Apple products.

BTW - Microsoft Enterprise support for this product is no better than consumer support.

I feel pretty disappointed too. I thought that by version 4 of the product they'd have nailed a lot of the issues.

I'm plagued with WiFi issues when USB 3.0 devices are plugged in as they interfere with the 2.4GHz spectrum. Buying a new router is not a solution.

Roughly once a day the device doesn't come out of standby (or the screen doesn't turn back on even though the keyboard illuminates), requiring a hard restart, which is probably in the long run just causing more errors.

Constant issues with my external monitor going blank for a few seconds at a time when running as a second screen and also when trying to play web video in Edge.

If I could get the money back I'd either get a Dell or just go back to my Macbook Pro. I love the Surface Pro 4's hardware, design and pen for image editing, but I'm pretty sick of all the issues.

I don't think I'd be able to recommend it to anyone at the moment. It has improved over the last couple of months as updates have appeared but in my experience it's still not reliable enough to use as a primary work device.

I hope most of you are having better experiences than I have.

Ive been using this piece of **** for about 2 months and Im done. Im so **** done. Theres so many issues. I want my money back. Ive spend 1100 pounds on this futuristic paperweight. Latest issue? Touch screen stops working about 10 minutes after turning it on. Sometimes I have to restart this junk 3 times for it to start working again. Right now its pretty much useless as a tablet. I want an answer from Microsoft. I want to know where in Manchester am I supposed to take it so you **** can give back my money.

I personally love my SP4. If you had asked me towards the end of November, I would have agreed. But this updates have fixed all my issues. It's a very reliable device.

There will always be a dud or an issue here and there. I had 5 Sony Xperia Z2s, all had some hardware issues - I'd say THAT was defective. 99% of these issues are software related (especially firmware).
