I am not using the separate keyboard, where is the windows key and the function key?

You need to turn on the Standard Keyboard layout:

    1. From the Charms bar, choose Settings.
    2. Choose Change PC Settings.
    3. Tap General, and scroll down to the Touch Keyboard settings on the right side.
    4. Tap the toggle called Make the Standard Keyboard Layout Available.

That adds the Standard keyboard to the keyboard chooser. (It's the fourth keyboard icon from the left, right next to the icon that closes the keyboard.)

In desktop mode, in task bar, tap the keyboard.

At the bottom right of the keyboard, tap the language button (probably ENG)

Pick the keyboard icon (fourth from the left) (full keyboard)

You will now have a full keyboard including a Windows Key and a Fn (function) toggle that switches between 1,2,3,4.... and F1, F2, F3, F4...

    Does that help?

PS - there is a Windows button on the screen bezel. Initially, I thought it was just a logo, but it's actually a Windows button that toggles between the Modern User Interface  and the Desktop Interface.   Try it.

After the charm, settings and when you click on the keyboard, there are 2 options

    1. Eng Engligh (United States) US Keyboard
    2. Touch keyboard and handwritting panel

Option 1 is grayed out and only thing you can select is option 2 where the keyboard pops up. i dont see anything else. can you show picture shots by any chance?

Pick the keyboard icon (fourth from the left) (full keyboard)

Another way you can get to the keyboard is through the Charms bar.

Swipe in from the right and select the "Settings" gear.

The bottom right icon will be "Keyboard."
