Windows S Mode Games

The app I am trying to install is on the Microsoft store. It is a Microsoft game.

I am trying to find if there is a list of games that are optimised for Windows S mode.

I have just spent all night downloading Age of Empires Definitive edition on my Surface Go, only to find I have to switch out of S mode to play it. I would like to leave my PC in S mode, but don't want to spend this amount of time getting games or apps that only tell me I cant play them after I install them. Shouldn't Microsoft Store tell me if I can use an app or not?

Thank you for reaching back. We understand that the App itself is available at the Microsoft Store, but for you to have a better gaming experience with the app, it requires to switch out from S mode,  since the app will require you to download the patches and updates from their website from time to time, not at Microsoft Store. Which is that option can be attained when you switch out from S mode.

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. We understand how you wanted to stay in S mode while at the same time download some third party apps that are not in the Microsoft Store. However, once your device is in S mode, what you can only download are those apps available on your Microsoft Store apps. You may refer to this link about Windows S mode.
