Hello Community,
I am convinced I've read every post of every forum and watched every relevant video on this issue, but I am at a loss....
Acer Aspire F5-571 - OLD LAPTOP
Surface Pro 4 Windows 10 i5 - NEW LAPTOP
Samsung UE50JU6800K Smart TV - FIRST TV
Sony Bravia KDL-40WE663 Smart TV - SECOND TV
June '16 - around Feb '17: I was able to use screen mirroring through my Acer laptop onto my Samsung TV perfectly. Around Feb '17, my Samsung TV became no longer detectable through the "Connect" or "Project" quick options on my Acer.
June '17 - I got my Surface Pro 4. Since then, I have never been able to mirror to my Samsung TV (same as my Acer). "Settings - Bluetooth & other devices - add Bluetooth or other device".....my TV is detectable through the "Bluetooth" option,
but not the "Wireless display or dock" option. I connect with the TV via the Bluetooth option. For a short time it then appears under the "Wireless displays & docks" paired heading, before swiftly moving itself underneath "Other devices". I then try to screen
mirror via "Connect" or "Project - connect to a wireless display" and the TV just does not appear as an option, despite it being detectable and connected as a Bluetooth device.
December '17 - I bought a second TV (Sony Bravia) and was able to mirror the SP4 to this TV within 2 minutes of trying, following the exact same steps as I do when trying to mirror with my Samsung.
- I am not using a wireless display adapter
- I know all devices in question are Miracast/Allcast compatible because I have been able to use the screen mirror functionality at some point with all of them
I have spoken with Samsung and the TV is fully up to date software-wise.
I just want to know why I am no longer able to screen mirror through my Samsung TV like I used to be able to with my Acer / why I am unable to do so with my
SP4, despite it working perfectly through my Sony Bravia TV.
Thanks
