Hi

I have bought a portable speaker Sony SRS BTV5

It was easy to pair it with my NFC supported smartphone but when I have tried to pair it with my Microsoft Surface and I wasnt able to do it.

My surface couldnt find BTV5 via bluetooth.

I have sended an email to Sony Customer Service and got this answer:

"Thanks for contacting Sony Support. Please verify that your PC can work with Blue tooth Profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, this is used for streaming music."

Any idea how to solve it?

Thanks

I bet the reason why your Surface couldn't detect nearby BTV5 is

"You don't know how to turn on Bluetooth on your BTV5"

The BTV5 has 2 ways to connect a device with it:

     - The 1st one, simply slide its trigger to the right, then release ==> THIS works as On button, also means NFC is ready

     - The 2nd one, SLIDE its slider/trigger to the RIGHT (power word printed under its bottom) AND HOLD IT FOR 3 SECONDS UNTIL YOU HEAR its sound (TING TING), the light blinks rapidly => you can release it know, turn on bluetooth on your SP tablet, you will see your eggy speaker in there

Feel free to ask me, I will reply ASAP

    Hi

Also Sony SRS BTV5 supports A2DP profiles.

    • The portable speaker uses direct Bluetooth, there is no usb connection.
    • I wasnt able to try other headset or speakers, so I dont knowç

Of course I have downloaded all updates and restartet plenty of times.

    Kind regards

    Hello RamiRamirez,

    Thank you for the reply.

You can find details on supported Bluetooth profiles here

    • Does the headset use direct Bluetooth or does it use a USB receiver?
    • Are you able to pair another headset to the Surface?

Please try a full shutdown and restart, then try pairing again.

    Please let us know.

    Best regards.

    Hello RamiRamirez,

Sorry to hear you are unable to pair your Sony portable speakers.

We would like to help, do you have the same problem with any other Bluetooth devices?

Have you removed the pairing from other devices before trying to pair this?

Do you have all Windows Updates installed?

    Please let us know.

    Best regards.
