I've had my Surface Laptop for around two weeks now and I adore it. The only downside is that I've become a hypochondriac after reading the horror stories about the alcantara fabric. I'm paranoid of getting it dirty or ruining it - especially since due to
my disability I get around either in a wheelchair or on the floor, so my hands pick up more dirt than most. I've already had to wipe the screen clean!
The alcantara seems to be doing fine at the moment - I am hand-sanitiser-ing constantly before every use. The logical side of my brain is saying that it can't pick up dirt THAT easily, otherwise there's no way it'd sell - but the rest of me is constantly
on edge. I've got the Surface Laptop, so if the Alcantara gets too dirty it isn't as simple as just spending out £200 on a replacement keyboard.
The Microsoft site says about using warm water and a lint-free cloth, or a screen wipe to clean the surface of the keyboard. Ideally I'd like to keep any use of water around the keyboard to a minimum except for a last resort, but what type/brand of screen
wipes would people recommend? Alternatively, what other methods of keeping the alcantara clean have people found?
