Screen protector necessary

I just received a New Surface Pro 4.  Do I need t buy a screen protector?  I know it is scratch resistant gorilla glass and the chat tech said it already had a screen protector on it  to prevent scratches.    I guess my question is...do I need to spend the extra money on a screen protector if it has gorilla glass on it?

I would get a screen protector, I have cracked the corner on my surface twice now. I wasn't hard on it, and I am really disappointed in how they wear. I take very gentle care of this, and yet it has happened again. Sad.

I haven't got one for my New Surface Pro yet either, mostly because they're $80+ in my country haha. But I did see this $14 one on amazon and figured I might as well get the extra protection just in case! I think it's especially a good idea if you don't have Microsoft Complete. While the gorilla glass is scratch proof, there's still a risk if you drop something heavy on it, like a coffee mug or your phone at the right angle, and a screen protector is just an added layer of potential oops-proof. But if you're looking at the more expensive screen protectors, maybe get Microsoft Complete instead?
