When you changed the layout, it may come out as what is pictured below: (this is not the same keyboard as yours but the layout may be the same)
Where are < > characters in the Italian Keyboard ?
Where are the "<" and ">" symbols in the Italian QWERTY keyboard ?
> MS Surface Book
> Win 10 64bit
> US version with US physical keybord.
I installed Italian language and Italian keyboard, via:
- Settings > Region and Language > Add a Language > Italiano (Italia)
- Settings > Region and Language > Add a Language > Italiano (Italia) [OPTION] > Keyboards > Add a Keyboard > Italian QWERTY
I can find every other special character and symbol but not these two: > and <
Please, can anyone help me find them without having to revert o the US keyboard? Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
Tommaso

2019-03-05T08:30:16+00:00 Hi Loyd,
Thank you for taking your time to reply and for sharing your expertise with me. I appreciated it.
However, in NY, a friend had a MS Surface device, purchased in the US, just like mine, with a physical US KB installed, just like mine, and had installed an Italian language pack and Italian KB, again, just like I did.
By typing a certain combination of keys my friend was able to obtain the two characters/symbols that I am now trying to find. Unfortunately my friend upgraded to a different make/device and cannot remember the combination that generates "<" and ">".
Kindly, can I ask you to locate the specific "character map" for the MS Surface Book with physical US KB and with Italian language and KB installed?
I know that it exists, somewhere, and I need to find it. I would very much appreciate if some MS specialist would, kindly, take the time to search the MS document base to find find it.
Thank you.

2019-03-05T06:51:46+00:00 Hi Tommaso,
Thank you for posting us here in Microsoft Community! We understand that you want to use the ("<" and '>'") symbol.
The Surface Keyboard Layout is limited to provide all the symbols, not just the Italian layout. It is different compared to a desktop keyboard. The only option that you can get the whole Italian keyboard functionality is to get the Surface Book Italy Hardware Configuration in Italy.

2019-03-03T21:55:29+00:00 I have the MS Windows Character Map but that does not help as characters cannot be directly input typing on the physical keyboard.
I need a specific character map (Italian) for the Surface Book physical US Keyboard.
It is a MS document, that should be simple to find for a MS specialist. Can anyone help me? Anyone from MS reading this thread?

2019-03-03T21:32:39+00:00 @James,
Thank you for your time.
As I mentioned I have a US QWERTY Keyboard (practically identical to the one in your image). In theory, I should be able to access the two symbols ("<" and '>'") when I activate the Italian language and keyboard by pressing a combination of keys on the physical US keyboard.
Today I was on a chat and then on the phone with 2 MS support agents, for 2 hours and they were unable to find the right combination as they could not find the appropriate MS document (Italian layout characters map).
I am certain that those two symbols can be used with a combination of keys because I saw it being done, from a US MS Surface Pro, purchsed in NY, with a physical US keyboard and an Italian Language pack plus an Italian language and keybord, added via Settings.
UnfortunatleyI do not remember the combination...
