Apple MagSafe wireless charger Won't charge phone while plugged into Surface Studio

Need some help, I have been using my Surface Studio 2 to charge my phone with a MagSafe wireless charger for the past year just fine but since yesterday it will charge for a couple seconds then stop working. I have confirmed it's not the magsafe charger itself as it will charge my phone while connected to a difference device. Also, a regular usb-c charger works fine when connected into the surface. We have tried to restart/update the pc/phone multiple times as well.

I found a fix for this problem.

    1. Open Devices and Printers in control panel
    2. Right click Apple MagSafe Charger and open properties
    3. Go to Hardware tab
    4. Select HID-compatible-vendor-defined device (1st one worked for me)
    5. Click properties
    6. Click Change settings (if applicable)
    7. Go to driver tab and disable the device.
    8. Unplug and replug the MagSafe

That's it and charging started working for me again.

Holy balls, This fixed it for me too. I purchased charger back in October 2021 and worked for 1-2 months or so, then stopped. I could not figure out what the heck caused it to stop working in Windows. Thought it was my USB-c connection but it worked fine in BIOS so led me to think it was something in Windows.

I had given up after a couple weeks of trying things off and on and gave up. Glad I tried searching again today for fix after like 2 months of having given up.

    Thanks for posting solution.

Im having the exact same problems. I used to plug in the MagSafe wireless charger in the usb-c of my laptop (running Windows 11 now) with no problem. My iphone would just charge as normal. However, since like a week it wont charge anymore. When I put my phone on the charger it i'll show the charging animation, but then it stops after like 2 seconds.

The charger does work properly when connected to a normal charging brick, so it seems that that is fine. I have tried to turn off the allow turn of device to safe power for the usb-controllers, but that does not have any effect. Since I only have 1 usb-c on my laptop i cannot check. I did connect my phone directly with a usb-c-to-lightning cable, that does charge the phone properly. It just seems that it wont let it charge when using the magsafe wireless charger.

    Any other ideas?

My solution for MagSafe working is to go to Control Panel > Device and Printers > Scroll down to the Apple MagSafe Charger > Right Click > Properties > Hardware tab > Disable one of the HID-compliant vendor-defined device (May need to have admin settings) and then it works like again. It's a Windows vs. Apple conflict

That's pretty interesting. I can also confirm that the charger works while I'm rebooting, but stops when I login into Windows.

"One more thing I've noticed is that if I unplug/plug the "charging wheel" shows and after a second the "flash" inside the battery indicator disrepair"

I have the same thing. Pretty frustrating

So any ideas how to mitigate this problem, to get the charger to work while logged into Windows? Or is it a FW problem that Apple can only fix?
