    Hi MagnusPF,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Google Chrome would follow the system settings of the device. Please check in Windows Settings > Personalization > Colors if Dark mode is selected under Choose your mode. If yes, please try changing it to Light. If it is set to Custom, please check if the Choose your default app mode and Choose your default Windows mode options are set to Dark or Light.

    Dear Marrion:

Thank you so much for your very kind message and advice. I followed your recommendation step by step, but the color is still dark-nothing has changed. Actually, we tried this when it happened to our laptop weeks ago. It's so sad since I can't work with the dark mode.

Again, thank you so much for your help that is greatly appreciated.

    With very best regards,

    MagnusPF

    Hi MagnusPF,

Thank you for getting back on this and sorry to hear that the issue persists. Kindly try resetting the Color Management settings of the device by following these steps below:

Open Windows Settings > System > Display

Select Advanced display under Related settings section

Select Display adapter properties for Display 1

Go to the Color Management tab on the pop-up window

    Click on Colour Management button

Go to Advanced tab then click on Change system defaults

Go to the Advanced tab again

Check the box next to the Use Windows display calibration

Click OK and close all windows then restart your device

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Dear Marrion:

Thank you so much for your very kind email and I apologize for the delay: I was extremely busy. Here is the list of activities I performed according to your advice, but the problem still exists. Very sad and frustrating,

I run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, and everything seemed prefect.

I was able to restart the device after I changed the settings, but the issue still persists. I performed a force shutdown, and it didn't help.

Attached please find the screenshot of Colors page in Settings. Please let me know if I need to provide more detailed information or take another screenshot.

Thank you so much for your incredible help and support! ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/fe9c3df1-0a5c-4a42-982b-23f80cf527b4?platform=QnA
