I just replaced the large battery located in the keyboard by myself and it works quite well. It took me 3 hours to open the bottom and clean the glue. Replacing the battery itself is as simple as detaching and attaching the cable. Then I used a bead of silicone calk to put the base back. You can purchase the battery from Amazon. (I purchased CENIFENX G3HTA049H for my 13.5" SB2.) There are installation videos on YouTube. Good luck!

    Hello, Matti Näsi.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

The battery of your Surface Book 2 seems to have developed a problem and its performance has dropped.

Battery replacement is indeed the right option at this point. For such hardware needs, we usually recommend users to get in touch with Surface Technical Support team for battery replacement related services.

However, it's worth noting that the Surface Book 2 was discontinued worldwide last year. Microsoft has also discontinued out-of-warranty repair services for this product. As a community support we cannot hide this fact from you.

We also do not recommend that you obtain battery parts from other sources. This may cause you to experience battery mismatch alerts while using the device.

The fact is that after 6 years of using a device, I think it's done its job. Maybe it's time or get a new device, which often brings more surprises and possibilities to our life and work.

If you want to know the latest Surface products, you can refer to the following links:

Of course, we respect any ideas or choices you may have.

I wish you all the best.

    Best Regards.
