I purchased the newest Surface Pro 11 because it is 5G compatible. However, when visiting Verizon, I was told the device isn't compatible with their 5G network. Should it be compatible?

After being told that Verizon did not support my new Surface Pro, I searched the web for a provider. What came up was a Verizon Business ad for exactly the model I have. I went to the local Verizon store that included Business and got very lucky with the representative who was working with me. After about half an hour of him trying a number of things, he came out with a SIM, installed it and I was up and running on Verizon (not their business side) without further problems.

Lesson is you need a physical SIM and once you have it, connecting is a breeze.

I was able to go to a Verizon store today that said Business however they were local. Was able to get a sim working in 5 minutes with no issues.

    Hi Barb,

I have been to at least 2 Verizon owned stores based on the link you've shared. I'm having a hard time concluding this is anything but the Surface Pro 11 not being compatible with the entire Verizon network.

I've heard that unless you go to a Verizon Company Store (as opposed to an authorized retailer/reseller) there have been problems. New York New York Verizon Store Locations has a list which shows which stores are company owned.

Can you confirm which of the company official stores you had this bad experience with? If you have not visited an official company store, could you possibly try going to one of them?

    Hahn, good morning.

I have been to 3 different Verizon stores and twice to the Microsoft Experience Center in New York City. 5G is available in NYC.

All Verizon stores are insisting the Microsoft Surface Pro 11 is not compatible with their network and they cannot provide 5G to it. They make this determination for both eSim and physical sim (Sim1) after I provide Verizon with the IMEI. IMEI is a unique identifier for tablets and phones.

Is the Microsoft Surface Pro 11 with 5G not compatible with Verizon, the nation's largest network provider?

    Adam
