Surface Pro Snapdragon Elite poor battery life with Teams/Zoom

I have had my Surface Pro Elite X (16GB OLED) for a few days now. The battery life seemed great until I started doing video meetings on Teams (and Zoom). I'm seeing about 20% drain for every 30min meeting.

Today I attended 3.5 hours of meetings from 9 until 2PM and had to plug in at 10% battery. Very disappointing to not get nearly through a day as this is a pretty normal workload for me.

I've reinstalled teams (ARM64) and the battery driver as advised by support, but it made no difference. They've advised to reset my device to try to fix things - but without any evidence that this might help, I don't really want to waste another day installing all my apps etc.

Anyone else finding this?

Teams is a known battery hog. My SP11 normally runs very cool, but when I’m in a Teams meeting it gets very warm, which is an indicator that it is consuming a lot of power.

Fortunately, I am able to keep my Surface plugged into AC power for the day, so this hasn’t been an issue for me, but I know that it would be if I were to be running on battery alone.

The same in my case, Teams consume the battery faster than in others devices, I have a Surface Pro with snapdragon X elite, and my work is using Teams all time..

look this consume, ordered by application, and I started with 99% of battery, after 36mins I had only 75% of battery, neither other app was working!

I have the same Issues - Battery Drain even with close lid without using the device at all. Sounds like a bigger problem to me - just need to check reddit.

    Hello

    I have the same problem.

After 1h30min zoom call my battery was at 30%.

Have you get a new device and noticed a difference?
