Hi all
I recently purchased the surface pro x with great expectations of utilizing it in the field to allow my company to provide instant invoices using Intuits Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2020.
After install of Intuits software the software became unresponsive exactly 5 minutes after launching application.
I than contacted Intuit and from there have spent over 25 hours on the phone trying to solve this mystery. One day I spent 13 hours straight with different technicians to try to solve.
The problem resides as we know of right now in the unique processor that limits power at all times to the processor hard drive etc even if you put all setting to never it adjusts in background.
So now I have tried and tried again to contact Microsoft sometimes good sometimes not so good.
I have a case number of 1502803619
The most recent solve was rather than allowing the surface to adjust from tablet to desktop mode to only allow desktop mode, this did make a difference in the in the unresponsive time behavior, it went from exactly 5 minutes to approx 13 to 17 minutes but
than the same unresponsive behavior which by the way you can only close QB from task manager after it becomes unresponsive.
Also recently a technician did a quick assist into laptop and from there changed a bunch of settings which resulted in QB displaying in 256 color and alot of other issues. I had to uninstall the program and after locate the changes made by the tech because
he said it was no longer his problem.
I have since spoken also with Surface dept they say its a Windows issue but Windows says its a Surface problem.
The problem is again the unique processor, Intuits software works great on a I7 processor even a surface 7 it works great, so why? Why make a processor that so upsets other third party software that you cause all these problems, silly!!!
I was on the phone today with Windows tech she transferred me to another dept which was going to handle providing a replacement computer since this one will not work! What happened was what happens alot you get transferred they start talking and reviewing
the case and all of a sudden gone , they go Hello Hello and than gone
When you call back what happens you go through all the silly prompts and guess what? oh we are sorry we are closed call back!!
Really you called me
why just so you can get me upset and let me go!!!
This has gone on way too long I purchased the Surface Pro X thinking buy the best and you will help your own company out but after all teh countless hours of loading unloading install quick fixes tired of it all
Remedy......
Have someone who has time call me and get the following in order before the call
1 what can you do to help with this pc
2 if you cant help with this pc i have invested $1400 at Microcenter and another $210 with Microsoft for windows 10 pro and over $200 for quickbooks so add it all up less all my time fixing a problem created by your company. Your replacement pc better be
the best of the best
3 if you cannot replace than at least give me all my money back invested plus my time which I can account for which at $98.00 and hour i could buy quite a few of these laptops
In closing yes I am frustrated
Mad no over the mad part disgusted in the fact that I tried to buy the best and it back fired so now who is the silly one!!
Please have someone call me so we can get this matter resolved asap
