I love my Surface Go but its ability to work well with my mass of photos and videos and documents and applications but even when I’m try to save things from my computer to an external device it saying theres not enough space from OneDrive??
i’m taking things from the computer and putting them on a SD card rhat still have over 900GB free space!

Do you have a OneDrive subscription? Basically the device is trying to back up your files also in OneDrive which may be already full. You may sign out OneDrive by selecting the OneDrive icon (cloud icon) on your Taskbar then select Help & Settings. Click on Settings then go to the Account tab and select Unlink this PC.
