I run Microsoft Defender Offline Scan on Windows 11, but there are no results. Why?

The offline scan initiates, but it never reaches 100%. At around 94%, the scan appears to end and the computer turns on.

When I go to Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Current Threats, there is no record of the offline scan and so there are no scan results. What's going on?

My Surface Laptop 5 is new. Windows 11 is up-to-date. And Windows Security "Security Intelligence" is also up-to-date.

***Moved from Windows / Windows 11 / Security and privacy***

The problem may need to be fixed unscathed with the Surface ISO

Doing the offline scan is like having tests done at a medical lab. You go home and have no idea what's going on. If they find something wrong, you might get a phone call. It should not be like this. I request to Microsoft that they change things so that scan results are displayed to the user after the completion of any scan.

    Hi Lavenia,

When I go to "Protection history" to see the Microsoft Defender Offline scan results, there is nothing there. Even under "Scan options" there is no record that the offline scan took place.

    Sincerely,

    avocadoEpicure

If Microsoft Defender Antivirus detects a piece of malware, it will be recorded in Protection History. If doesn't show you any threats or malware alerts, Microsoft Defender Antivirus had fixed the issue and does not display any threads or malware notifications. Hence, your device is secure. See Protection History - Microsoft Support.

    Mine completed, the screen showed:

    Your PC is being scanned

This might take a while. When it's done, your PC will restart.

    Start time: 11:37 PM

    Items scanned: 92350

    Percent complete: 100

Preliminary scan results show there might be malicious or potentially unwanted software on your system. Microsoft Defen der Antivirus will attempt to address this threat after the scan has completed. You can see a list of detected threats 1 n the Windows Security history list when you return to Windows.

    Detected threats are being cleaned.

After this we kept looking at each other for minutes waiting for an auto restart till I lost patience and had to force restart. On restart , it showed the screenshot in the attachment
