Dock and power solution for Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2

I'm looking to purchase a Surface Laptop Studio 2 to replace my current Surface Book 2 that I've had for the last six years. I use the Microsoft Surface Dock to plug in my Surface Book and power all my desk devices and monitors. From what I can tell, the Surface Dock 2 is the only docking solution with enough power to charge the Laptop Studio 2. Is this correct? Does the Thunderbolt 4 dock work with the Laptop Studio 2?

    And if I have both, Dock 1 and Dock 2? I use Microsoft Surface Dock 2 at home and want to use Microsoft Surface Dock 1 at work. I've limited Battery capacity on my Surface Laptop Studio 2 to 50% through UEFI Interface, in order to prolong battery lifespan. My main question is, is Microsoft Surface Dock 1 harmful for Surface Laptop Studio 2 Battery and Power Management System, so, will it damage my SLS2?

    my question is, with dell dock, when you connect the usb cable it turns the laptop on, surface dock does not ....why???

    Yes, Microsoft Surface Dock 2 is a docking solution that can provide enough power to charge the Surface Laptop Studio 2. The Surface Dock 2 can provide up to 199W of power, which is enough to power the Laptop Studio 2 and any connected peripherals.

    As for the Thunderbolt 4 dock, it should work with the Laptop Studio 2 as well.

    Thanks for getting back to us and apologies for the delayed response as I have been out of office.

    The Surface Dock 1 is not recommended for use with the Laptop Studio 2 as it does not provide enough power to charge the device.
