2025-04-07T11:55:06+00:00 Hello
I am very surprised that the Surface 11 Pro copilot (ARM) is not capable of connecting with Brother, Adobe, Kaspersky and many others (list would be too long). If I knew that before buying it, I would never have bought it. Now I need to throw away an operating and very nice colot laser printer (Brother DCP L3550CDW) just because compatibility is not provided.
I am very disappointed by my Microsoft Surface Pro 11 offering AI but not capable of printing in color ;-(

2025-03-11T02:15:43+00:00 Return the machine. Brother and ADOBE software is not compatible with ARM. Waiting for update is not feasible because it will take longer than lifecycle of your machine.

2024-12-04T07:21:22+00:00 Hi Heidrun,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I'm sorry that you're experiencing compatibility issues with Brother MFC printers and scanners on your Surface Pro 11.
Some ARM PCs (for example, Copilot+ PCs) may not be able to add or install a printer using the included installer or the installer from the manufacturer’s website. Windows instead suggests:
- Connecting your printer by opening Settings , then selecting Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Add device.
- Connecting your printer via USB.
For more, see Install a printer in Windows.
You can also contact Brother customer support to see if they have any ARM specific solutions for your model of printer.
Your Sincerely

2025-04-23T20:21:18+00:00 You can try changing or using the Brother PCL6 driver.
Your PC should have detected the printer. Go to Device Manager, find your printer > right-click on your printer > Update driver> "Browse my computer for drivers"> "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer." > Update the driver to Brother PCL6 or Generic printer. The printing function of your Brother printer should work. I have the DCP-7040.
I haven't figured out how to get the scanner function working yet. All the best!
