Hi Muhimin,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Unfortunately, using your Microsoft Surface Pro 9 as a monitor for a device like the Amazon Fire Stick is not directly possible through plug-and-play using a Type-C to HDMI adapter. The Surface Pro 9’s USB-C and HDMI ports are designed for output only, meaning they can send video to an external monitor but cannot receive video input from another device such as a Fire Stick.
To use your Surface Pro 9 to stream the content from a Fire Stick, you would need a workaround.
- Use a Video Capture Card: A USB video capture card can be connected to your Surface Pro 9 via USB-C. This device would allow you to take the HDMI output from the Fire Stick and stream it as video input on your Surface.
- Plug the Fire Stick into the HDMI input on the capture card.
- Connect the capture card to your Surface Pro 9 via USB-C.
- Use software (Open Broadcaster Software) to capture and display the HDMI signal on your Surface.
- Remote Desktop via Apps: Use apps on both the Surface and Fire Stick to sync content or stream between devices through a media server. This won’t use the Surface as a direct monitor, but it allows content sharing between the devices.
Unfortunately, simply using an HDMI or USB-C adapter alone won’t work since Surface Pro’s ports are output-only. A capture card or screen mirroring software are your best bets.
Your Sincerely
