Microsoft Surface Pro X games keep crashing every 5 - 10 minutes.

I have purchased the Surface Pro X just last week, everything has been working fine and is used mostly for both work and home entertainment. One of my children likes playing ROBLOX on my computer, and just today it has started crashing every 5 - 10 minutes. It doesn't seem to be a ROBLOX issue though, as the game itself runs perfectly with no lag and great graphics. The crashing is consistently around the 5 - 10 minute mark of opening the game. I am no expert on computers, but I think it has something to do with GPU or memory quickly spiking up reaching 100%? Do I need to see I.T expert? Any answers would be great. I have already tried restarting, and at this stage it's only been a week so I'm up to resetting if needed.

The Surface Pro X has an ARM processor. Looking at Roblox's Microsoft Store Page, it does not have a native ARM version, meaning it is essentially running through emulation. Games are technically complex that are not always compatible with emulation. This could be one reason the game doesn't run well.

You would need to try other games and see what results you get with them as well.

I would make sure it's completely up to date with both Windows and any firmware updates available (which also come through windows update). As Entegy mentioned, Roblox is being emulated, and I've noticed the emulation is much improved now compared to when I first got my Pro X almost a year ago. Mine came with Windows 10 v1909, so I would suggest making sure you're running version 2004 or 20H2.

I haven't played Robox on mine for a few months now, but the last time I did it worked just fine, with one exception - there was one game (Fishing Simulator) that I couldn't use the secondary mouse click action which was really weird. That's the only issue I've seen. I never saw it crash like you're describing. Does it happen in every game, or just one or certain ones?

    Hi Faithfvl,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Was Roblox installed directly from the Microsoft Store app or using a third party installer? If it was using an installer, please try to install Roblox from the Microsoft Store apps.

Please run these steps also on your Surface Pro X to troubleshoot the issue:

1: RunSurface Diagnostic Toolkit and check Windows Update

2: Run System File Checker Tool in Windows 10

3: Update games and apps from the Microsoft Store

See this page: Get update for apps and games from Microsoft Store app

    4: Run Troubleshooter

See this page and refer to step 7 given: Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store

    Hope this helps.
