I've been having this issue with bluetooth overall, where i may be using my phone connected to my speaker to listen to a song, and as soon as I startup my laptop the bluetooth gets pulled to my laptop and stops my music. Or the other way around, where im listening from my laptop and my phone pulls it. is there a way to turn it off? I can't just turn it off since I still have some preferred auto bluetooth connections on startup.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I am aware that you would like to know how to turn off auto-Bluetooth when some devices turn on. I am here to help and let us work on this together. Allow me to ask some questions.

    • May I know what is the make and model of the speaker you have used?
    • Are you using an Android phone or an iPhone?
    • What build version of Windows does your Surface device currently running?

You can try the following workarounds to stop certain Bluetooth devices from connecting automatically:

    1. Disable Swift Pair
      1. Open Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices
      2. Select Devices
      3. Under Device settings, toggle off the Show notifications to connect using Swift Pair
    2. Power Management
      1. Open Device Manager
      2. Expand Bluetooth's category.
      3. Double-click Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth
      4. See if Power Management tab is available.
      5. Check the box next to Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power. then Click OK.
    3. Turn off Bluetooth: Your system will automatically connect to the paired Bluetooth device or devices whenever you leave your system's Bluetooth turned on all the time. You can turn it off then turn it back on again to connect your system to a Bluetooth device.
    4. Remove the Bluetooth device from your computer: This will resolve the issue, but each time you wish to connect the Bluetooth device to your computer, you will need to pair it again.

I hope the provided solution works for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
