How to get ethernet connection working on MS Surface Laptop 7th Edition when connected to HP Thunderbolt dock G4 ?

I'm unable to get ethernet connection working on my MS surface laptop 7th edition with Snapdragon X Elite 12-Core 3.40 GHz under windows 11 24H2 (ARM64) build 26120.2510 when connected to the HP Thunderbolt Dock G4 (4J0A2AA#ABB) over USB C.
I already updated the dock to newest firmware version 1.5.25.0
In the device manager the ethernet controller appears under other devices and it seems there are no ARM64 compatible drivers available (the drivers for this device have not been installed. (Code 28))
-> Anybody already fixed that issue?

I find myself having this same issue with same device mentioned by previous user. I'm using a RoHS Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th edition compatible. In Device Manager there is no ethernet adapter listed. Any additional suggestions on how to get the ethernet connection to activate using this docking station? Will I need to download Microsoft driver package to proceed with my new laptop set-up? Thanks in advance for your time and response.

I'm having the same issue with a new Surface Pro and I'm using the Microsoft docking station from my Surface Pro 7. Ethernet connection worked fine for a couple of days, but now the adaptor is not showing only in the hidden devices. I can't seem to find a way to enable the Surface Ethernet Adapter. Help!

    Hello, v-scheidler.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community!

I noticed that you are trying to use the HP Thunderbolt Dock G4 with the Surface Laptop 7. However, you have received an error code 28 indicating that there are currently no ARM64 compatible drivers available.

This error code means that the HP Thunderbolt Dock is not able to support ARM architecture devices for connectivity, as it does not currently have a driver version for the ARM architecture.

There is no hardware issue with your device itself, this is a compatibility issue causing the situation. The Snapdragon X Elite 12-core processor determines the ARM architecture of this Surface Laptop 7. ARM64 has a lot of differences from the X64 architecture that we usually see more often, and as an example of the problem you're currently experiencing, the HP Thunderbolt Dock is apparently able to work better with X64.

For Surface devices, the Microsoft community would prefer users to use a Surface-specific docking station device to ensure the best compatibility:

Buy Surface Thunderbolt™ 4 Dock (Ports, Compatibility, Price) - Microsoft Store ****

For those of you who already have a docking station, purchasing an additional one is obviously not the most ideal decision. Therefore, you can contact HP support and ask them if they can provide you with an ARM-compatible version of the docking station driver or if they have any plans to release something about it in the future.

These are some of the thoughts and information I can share with you at this time.

Thank you for your use and understanding of Surface products.

Finally, please allow me to express my sincere wishes.

    Best Regards.
