Thunderbolt Dock - No Ethernet connection

I just received my new thunderbolt docking station, and I have everything plugged in, but the dock is not recognizing the ethernet connection. My Surface Laptop 5 is only connecting by Wi-fi and I would prefer it connect by way of the dock for a faster and reliable connection. I've updated the firmware on the thunderbolt docking station, I've updated all the Laptop as well. I've uninstalled the driver file for the ethernet adapter #3 from the device manager, and then restarted so that the system could re-install the proper driver files, and I still don't have a physical connection. What am I missing??

Rolando, I'm still having problems and I spent last night with your chat services trying to figure out what was wrong. I was told to buy a Microsoft Ethernet USB adapter instead. I bought it and it's still not working. I'm beginning to think it's the surface 5 laptop instead of the docking station and/or Ethernet adapter. I seriously need help and am getting annoyed with this situation

    Hello Lee,

Thank you so much for posting in Microsoft Community.

I appreciate you raising this concern and I understand that you're having issues connecting to an internet connection.

Since you were able to do bunch of things already in attempting to solve the issue. Here are other things I can suggest:

    1. Download Drivers and Firmware to your Surface: Download Surface Laptop 5. from Official Microsoft Download Center
    2. Try resetting your Surface, this will remove everything from Surface so make sure to back up data before doing so: Restore or reset Surface for Windows - Microsoft Support

If none of these steps work, there is a need to contact live supports for further assistance on this. You can reach them by following the steps below:

    1. Go to Contact Us - Microsoft Support
    2. Choose how you want to get support for your Surface device.
    3. Enter the issue you need help with.4. Review the available solutions that are provided, and then select Contact Support. For a link to a detailed guide to accessing live support, see How to get phone and chat support for Surface Home/Consumer - Microsoft Community

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards,

    Rolando S.
