I have found the serial number of my microsoft surface laptop but I need to identify the model and age

Can anyone tell me how using JUST the serial number I can identify my model / age of my laptop? It's at the reset stage on the front screen so I cannot log on to check the system?

    You may use this link to check details of your Surface device Check Warranty Page - ROBO SelfServe Portal (surface.com). Or you may also view the details of your Surface device on your Microsoft account under devices. If you haven't register the device yet, you can add the device with the serial number.
