    Hi Wandeelert,

You can tell if your Surface device model includes LTE or not by looking in the Surface app. If it is equipped with LTE, it will be part of the name.

More info -> Find out which Surface model you have (microsoft.com)

    Hope this helps,

    Greg

Currently, only the Business models, which come with Windows 11 Pro have LTE SKU's available. Yours is a consumer device without LTE.

Was there a SIM tool in the box? Where did you purchase? I see that places like Zones are listing the EIV-00017 as LTE advance enabled, but the system SKU reference seems to SRFC PRO8 I7/16/256 LTE W10 COMM PLAT - EIV-00017 (zones.com)

I think you may have been sent the wrong SKU, as it looks like 1982 is the correct SKU number. The Surface App should show LTE in the string. Contact the seller.

I ordered EIV-00017 which is the Windows 10 version which should be Pro8/i7/16/256LTE.

    The surface app shows:

    Device name: *********************

    Serial number: *********************

Surface model: Surface Pro 8 Model 1983 i7

    SAM: 6.206.139.0

    UEFI: 6.210.141.0

    Wi-Fi driver: 22.50.1.1

    App Version: 61.1034.139.0

I am not seeing the Cellular adapter. Is there a way to tell if I was sent the wrong product?

Thank you. That helped. Turns out they sent me the wrong model.

Physically, if open the kickstand, you'll see a panel with a tiny hole in it. On all Pro 8 models, this is where the NVMe drive is; on LTE capable models, there will be a slot for a physical SIM there.

Through software, if you click the WiFi/Sound/Battery control on the Taskbar, there will be a control to manage Cellular settings there whether you have a service connected via SIM/eSIM or not at all.

Barb is correct in that only Business models will have LTE; if you have Home installed, it is consumer and will not have LTE.
