Two Monitors, Duplicated Display, Computer only detects one

Current Setup:

Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 (Windows 11 Home)

A-Port Active C200 Multi Hub

(Dell U2515H) x 2

Multi hub is plugged into the laptop USB-C port.

Both monitors are connected to the multi hub using HDMI-to-HDMI cables.

In the display setting, only two displays are detected.

Two external monitors are detected as one and duplicated.

What I want to do is to have three separate displays.

Drivers are up to date.

What is the problem?

    Hi JihoonLee1,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We understand that you want to be able to use 3 separate monitors (including the Surface display) in using your Surface Laptop 3 using the third party hub (A-Port Active C200 Multi Hub).

May I know which Surface Laptop 3 configuration do you have? AMD or Intel?

Can you please also take a screenshot of what you are seeing in the Display settings of the Surface then share them with us here? Go to Windows Settings > System > Display.

To start, kindly try selecting the monitor in the display settings that is being duplicated. Once selected, see if you could change the drop-down below from Duplicate these displays to Extend these displays.

If still issue persist, try to lower the refresh rate of the monitor also then see if it helps.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Hi JihoonLee1,

Thank you for confirming. I'll need to check on this further but can you please provide me with the make and model of the other Windows 11 laptop where the hub worked fine in connecting 2 external monitors?

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

Thank you for your effort to solve the problem.

This USB-C Hub worked fine on a different Windows 11 laptop with the same setting (but with different laptop and 2 monitors).

When I click on Identify, it still shows the number 2 on both monitors. (nothing happens)

I have already contacted the hub manufacturer, but they said they could not ensure the compatibility of the hub with Windows 11. (but compatible with Windows 10)

    Best regards,

    Jihoon

    Hi JihoonLee1,

Thank you for the reply and for the details provided.

Is this the first time that you use this USB-C Hub in connecting external monitors or this used to work before?

Can we please try to test this set using the same hub on another Windows device (if possible)? It seems that this is an issue with the hub where it is detected only as 1 display output for the 2 HDMI port. If the 2 external monitors are detected but duplicating, it should show 2|3 on one of the monitors shown in Display page in Settings. When you click on Identify, does it show the number 2 on both external monitors also?

Have you tried contacting also the support for the hub? If not yet, kindly do so and see if there is anything they can do on this.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    My Surface has Intel i7-1065G7.

I attached a screenshot where only two displays are detected.

I could not even select the display that is being duplicated.

The refresh rate has only 1 option (60 Hz) in the drop-down menu.
