44W vs 65W power adapter

My surface pro 6 originally came with a 44w power adapter, and I recently ordered the 65w adapter. Will it charge faster with the 65w adapter, or is there some kind of current limiter making it charge at the same rate?

Thanks

You won't notice a difference in charging time. Surface DOES have firmware and software that protect against over charging. The 65W power supply has been sold as the universal replacement for Pro's since SP3.

I think it would charge slightly faster. Might not be enough to be noticeable though.
