Surface Laptop Go 1 to External Monitor

I was wondering if it's possible to connect a Surface Laptop Go 1 to an external monitor simply via USB-C? I have a BenQ monitor that has a USB-C input.

Would it also be possible to charge the Surface via this same cable as the monitor has a 60W Power Delivery.

    Hi Kieran NZL,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

The Surface Laptop Go can be connected to an external monitor. The device has a USB-C port which you can use to connect an external monitor. If your monitor has a DisplayPort or an HDMI, you may use a USB-C to DisplayPort or USB-C to HDMI cable to connect the external monitor to the Surface.

see: Connect Surface to a TV, monitor, or projector.

The Surface device can be charge using a USB-C charger. In this case, we recommend using a USB-C charger that provides at least the same wattage as the power supply that was included with your Surface (see Surface power supplies and charging requirements).

Power supply unit model Surface model Main charger USB power on charger Total wattage
1963 Surface Laptop Go 15 volts @ 2.6 amps=39 watts No USB port 39 watts
