    Hi SParkinson1,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community.

Typecover model 1644 was for Surface 3 and 1709 was for Surface Pro 3.

Surface 3 typecover uses the same connector (6pins) to the Surface Pro 3 or 4. Though it can be connected, it wont be able to cover the whole screen of your Surface Pro 4 since the Surface 3 was much smaller. The same thing for a Surface Pro 3 typecover on a Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3 is smaller than a Surface Pro 4 so using a Pro 3 typecover wont cover the whole screen of your Surface Pro 4.

"Typecover model 1644 was for Surface 3 and 1709 was for Surface Pro 3."

Then how is this package possible, that states it is for a Surface PRO 3 and is model 1644???

Could we get the exact dimensions of each of these keyboard models? Model 1644 in particular, please.

I am trying to replace the original keyboard on my Surface Pro 3, which is model 1709, and when I ordered the 'recomended' model FMM-00001 it was slightly too large.

    Many thanks.
