https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dv_6Q6mhYmYys2vkFKs5454EDcXkIMEI/view?usp=sharing A few years ago, I purchased a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse, and I was very satisfied with its performance. However, I lost the mouse during a business trip.

Since this model is no longer available in the official market, I recently bought a used Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. Unfortunately, when I received it, I noticed that the blue Windows button does not have the same "clicking" feedback as the one I used before. While the button responds when pressed, it lacks the distinct click feeling, which makes it uncomfortable to use.

I’m wondering if there are multiple versions of the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. If so, could you let me know the model number of the version with a blue Windows button that provides a proper clicking sensation? I would like to purchase a model with that feature.

Additionally, I’m concerned about the possibility that the mouse I purchased might be a counterfeit product. Is there a way to confirm whether it is genuine? If so, could you please advise me on how to verify its authenticity?

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi Shinyoung,

You're welcome! Based on the details you've shared, it seems like there might indeed be a difference between the versions of the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse regarding the presence of the Windows button (or the "Start" button).

    Thank you for your answer.

I noticed a difference between two versions of the mouse.

The one I’m using now doesn’t have a Windows button option.

However, the one I used before did have a Windows button option.

Perhaps the 2016 version included the option, while earlier versions did not.

    Is that correct?

    Hi Shinyoung,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

There were indeed multiple versions of the Microsoft Sculpt Mouse over the years. The model you originally had could have been an earlier version, and the newer one you purchased might have some subtle changes in button feel or mechanics, including the Windows button. Versions of the Microsoft Sculpt Mouse:

    • Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse  Image
    • Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse  Image
    • Microsoft Sculpt Confort Mouse

Based on the pictures you provided; it looks like you purchased the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. There are no multiple versions of the single Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. As for verifying the authenticity of the mouse, Microsoft's Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse works with the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center [Mouse and Keyboard Center download - Microsoft Support]. If the mouse does not pair properly or lacks functionality in the software, it may be a counterfeit product. You can also contact Microsoft Support and they will be able to assist you in verification. Contact Us - Microsoft Support
