surface laptop cracked screen - is there a problem?

I have a surface Laptop 3 and a Surface Laptop 5 I purchased only 2 weeks ago. When the Surface 3 cracked, I assumed it was something I did. Then a crack appeared on the Surface Laptop 5, running from middle of the screen to the top camera - I haven't even taken the laptop off my desk yet.

These are hairline cracks, only visible at an angle, but still annoying and is clearly a design flaw.

I’ve already had one Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 replaced, and now the replacement has developed a crack in the exact same spot as the original. Which is quite frustrating! I will never recommend these laptops to anyone.

I have a 15" Surface Laptop 4 and the screen cracked, though it had only been used on a desk.

It seems to be a design fault particularly with the larger screens.
Microsoft denied it was a design fault and wouldn't cover it under warranty, and suggested we send it to their authorised repair shop and pay for a new screen. Absolutely gutting.
We have a lot of Surface products in our office, but looking for a different brand with a decent build quality.

Hi! This is my first surface I’ve had (not sure which one). I bought it in 2021 when i graduated and I’ve taken extremely great care of it, even have a case on it for protection. One day i took it out of my bookbag after class and it was all of a sudden cracked with a perfect X all over the screen. I do believe after seeing so many of the same issues that it’s a faulty part on the computers.

I can get a charges replacement screen (c£380) - I dont think I will be buying any more surface laptops as clearly they are vunerable to this given I have 3!
