Keyboard and mouse too sensitive

Anonymous

I have a new Surface Pro 7 with Windows 10 software.

My keyboard and mouse are way too sensitive. I have adjusted the setting to the max less sensitive, which did not help much and remains way too sensitive. Is there any other procedure I can take to lower the sensitivity?

Thank you. Charles

    Hi CharlesRuhl1,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that it's more convenient to use a mouse and keyboard with your own sensitivity settings.

Just to confirm, are you using a wireless mouse? For the keyboard, are you currently using the Surface Type Cover?

Try to perform the methods below:

    • Change the keyboard sensitivity through Control Panel. Go to search and search for Control Panel > Go to Ease of Access Center > Under Explore all settings, click on Make the keyboard easier to use. > Under See Also, click on Keyboard settings to open the Keyboard Properties. > In the Speed Tab, under Character repeat, adjust the Repeat delay and Repeat rate to your preference. There is a text box available so can test out the changes you've made.
    • Go to settings > devices > Mouse > Under Pointer Options, change the pointer speed based on your preference. Check the tick box for Enhance pointer precision.
    • Try to also change the Choose how many lines to scroll each time if you are using the touchpad as your mouse. Go to settings > Devices > Mouse.
    • Run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit restart the device then check the settings for the Windows Update.
    • Run the System File Checker.
    • Install the drivers package manually.
    • Check the specific OS build of your Windows SettingsSystemAbout.
    • Download the driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Pro 7 and click download on the next page.
    • Please choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next.
    • After the download, runand installthe .msi then Restart the Surface Device

Let me know how this goes.
