what's the use of high performance if it doesn't handle Photoshop?

I started working on Photoshop and turn power mode to high performance and plugged in and started painting on it. Suddenly after 4-5 min Photoshop started lagging and i notice screen got so hot. So i started finding problem and the problem i found is too much hotness keeps screen lagging then i turn power mode lower to cool and slow the fans. Then there is not such lag while working but i need that speed on my work for which i pay money.

And screen is quite hot all the time when in high performance with plugged in with no task open. I checked several time my task manager if cpu is in use or not but only 2 -3% and those are windows only.

BIG QUESTION IS WHY THAT HOT IN WHICH IT BECAME LAGGY.

Have you manually selected the Nvidia GPU for Photoshop? Assuming your machine has the Nvidia GPU. The auto select doesn't work properly.

    Hi TusharNawale,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

What I'd like you to do to initially troubleshoot this issue is to check whether or not there are applications that are still running in the background causing the device to overheat.

Right-click on the Windows icon and select Task Manager. Check if there are apps that are still running and check CPU to determine which apps are having high CPU usage that affect device performance when doing your stuff in Photoshop.

If there's none, the issue could be due to corrupted drivers and what I can recommend is to download this in-place upgrade to re-update the Windows OS of your Surface device. This won't delete the files nor the existing applications you already installed on your Surface. This will just re-update the Windows version and re-download those drivers that are corrupted. Just click "Download Tool Now" and hit Next once you see "Upgrade This PC".

If this helps, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if you need further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Crest_Z
