My Surface can't connect anymore to a WIFI network!

My Surface Book 2 (Win11) loaded today a new Update and at the moment i had to switch rooms and closed it,

Windows decided to play around with that update in the Background. As I opened it again, I got a bluescreen and after the restart,

I couldn't connect anymore to the work-WIFI.

  • Yes all my other devices can still connect to it.
  • My Surface still see's the network, but while trying to connect, it says "No connection to this network possible".
  • I tried to reset the network, but reconnecting is still not possible.
  • I tried to reset the adapter, nothing.
  • I disabled it in UEFI-Mode and restarted, but still nothing.
  • I tried the troubleshooting "App" but that one is only telling me "Hey i found a problem, can I leave now?"
  • BUT after restarting it a few times, I managed to connect for a short period to the internet. But then it reentered in the endless-loop of "No connection to this network possible".

I'm sorry that I can't tell more, but there are no error Messages beneath this to post.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I am aware that you're having trouble connecting to your work Wi-Fi network on your Surface Book 2 after a recent update. I am here to help and let us work on this together.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Restart your Surface Book 2: Press and hold down the power button until your Surface shuts down and restarts and you see the Windows logo screen (about 20 seconds), then release the power button.
    2. Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue is specific to your work Wi-Fi network.
    3. Run Windows Network Troubleshooter:
      1. Select Start and type settings. Select Settings >System>Troubleshoot.
      2. Select Other Troubleshooters.
      3. Select Network Adapter > Run.
      4. Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.
    4. Update the network adapter driver: Go to Device Manager > Network adapters > Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller. Right-click on it and select Update driver. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the update.
    5. Remove and reinstall driver: Go to Device Manager > Network adapters > Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller.. Right-click on it and select Uninstall device. If prompt to permanently delete the driver notification. Leave the box uncheck and select Uninstall. Then restart your Surface.
    6. Reset network settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset. This will reset all network adapters and set networking components to their default settings. After the reset, try to connect to the network again.

If you’re still having problems with your Wi-Fi network, see Fix Wi-Fi connection issues in Windows for other solutions.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, kindly give answers to the following questions so we can further isolate your issue and formulate appropriate troubleshooting steps.

    • May I know what build version of Windows you are currently running?
    • Did you notice which specific update that was installed?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia

    Hello,

    thanks for your explanations.

Points 1-3 didn't help, especially because you need to detach the Ethernet-cable to run the Troubleshooters -> Network Adapter, and then the program only tells you, that there is a problem but doesn't show any solutions or instructions.

But after reinstalling the driver via the DeviceManager helped me, and now I'm again able to connect.

Kind regards and thanks for the help
