It is probably a learned lesson, buy another product. Logitech has their unifying software that lets you repair devices to their dongles and not waste a perfectly good keyboard due to a manufuctering defect/design flaw.

This is very true. I have been a loyal Microsoft keyboard user for years, but it is way past time for this to have become an updated option. LOGITECH is knocking this out of the park. Who does not lose/break dongles sometimes?

    Hi,

    Hope you’re well.

I have a similar problem as my dongle has snapped.

Is there no way to make use of the keyboard and mouse once the dongle is lost / broken?

If not, this seems like a big design floor in terms of sustainability, having to through away perfectly functioning equipment which all hinges on a small, not particularly sturdy dongle.

Can we not reprogramme another dongle?

    Thanks

    Al.

    Hi Charlotte De Leersnijder,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear about what happened to the mouse and dongle of your Microsoft Wireless Desktop 900. The Microsoft Wireless Desktop 900 operates only through the USB dongle which is uniquely paired. Dongles are uniquely and securely bound or programmed to the mouse or the keyboard and are sold as a matched set. Because of the secure binding or programming, we are unable to provide a replacement dongle that would work with the mouse or keyboard. Lost dongle is not covered by the Standard Manufacturer's Warranty also.

    Kind regards,
    Marrion
