My Surface Pro 7 i5 8gb seems to be not enough for windows 11 for my work

I've been using windows 11 since it was released and i'm really tired to feel that my surface pro 7 is not enough for handle windows 11 during my workday. I normally running during my workday apps like: Outlook, MS Teams, Whatsapp Desktop, Zoom, Excel or Word, Edge, etc.

The problem is that the memory goes to 90 or 95% of usage (with windows 10 it wasn't that much). After the laptop reach that peak, it get slow and several times crashes.

I have done all the tips that i have been able to find on the web, and windows 11 is up to date.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

    Hi Rucaryl,

Thank you for providing the screenshots of the Task Manager. I think this is normal considering that you have 4 tabs running in Zoom Meetings, 7 for WhatsApp, 5 for Microsoft Teams and 8 on Microsoft Edge plus the other processes or apps running including Outlook.

Can you please take a screenshot of the Performance tab and share it here with us also.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Hi Marrio,

I'm uploading screenshots from the task manager with the workload I normally use in my workday. Do you think is normal? or you see something not normal?

About the other things you suggested:

    • Power Mode: is on Best Performace
    • Free Space: Right Now I have 100GB
    • Scan for virus, spyware or malware: Windows Defender runs every now and then (I'm not sure what is the schedule)

About Resetting the laptop, for me is not a problem. I have all my data in Onedrive, so i can do it easily.

    Regards,

    Jose

Well, after two days of testing the results are:

    1. Using my laptop with the following apps open: Ms Outlook, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Zoom (With Video Turn On), Whatsapp Desktop makes it laggy (Memory Consumption is 91%)
    2. Today, using the same apps, my laptop crash (Blue Screen)

I really feel that the way to go is to roll back to windows 10.

    Regards,

    Jose

    Hi Marrion,

I have just finished all the steps you suggested. So far the only thing that I have notice is that after boot up, memory consumption now is 3.5gb ( 0.5gb have been released ). I will test my laptop the following days and let you know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Jose

    Hi Marrion,

Sorry I have not reply earlier. So far I have been able to do Steps 1,2 and 3 (Yesterday night). The Diagnostic tool just found a driver issue.

About how I did the update to windows 11, it was through the windows update option. I will try to do step 4 today and test the laptop a couple of days (but i'm going to be out of work until monday).
