Surface Sculpt Ergonomic?

Hi,

Ever since the introduction of Microsoft's ergonomic keyboards, I've been using them, starting with the first Natural Keyboard, over the Natural Keyboard Pro (which I'm still using at the Office, thanks to the multimedia keys and programmable keys which I use for Copy/Paste/Select All), upto the Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard and mouse I use at home.

Now I read the upsetting news that Microsoft discontinues the production of (mice and) keyboards, in favour of the Surface brand.

Now I'm wondering if the existing Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard will be rebranded as a Surface product, or will simply be discontinued altogether?

Kind regards

Stijn Bousard

This is terrible! Bring back the sculpt keyboard, Microsoft, why discontinue it? It makes no sense, this is the best keyboard Microsoft has ever made!

I can tell when I have run into a wall about the Sculpt Keyboard demise. --Does anyone have the contact information for Logitech so I can ask them when they will be producing an ergonomic keyboard that has a detachable 10 key pad and low profile? To satisfy that need for my clients, I will go back to the Gold Touch or Kinesis Keyboards for now.

    Marrion -

Also - will Microsoft continue to support the existing Sculpt keyboards with driver updates? Do they need those?

    Thanks

Totally agree! Would have sold 4 yesterday at a local college where I consult. Have had to settle for a Logitech K 380 with a separate wireless number pad. Doesn’t come close but the best I can figure out. Sure hope Microsoft reconsiders this change!

I've been a long-time user of Microsoft's ergonomic keyboards, starting from the classic Natural Keyboard to the Sculpt Ergonomic. However, I recently came across news suggesting that Microsoft is discontinuing their traditional mice and keyboards in favor of the Surface brand. I'm particularly concerned about my Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard. Is it going to be rebranded as a Surface product or is it being phased out altogether?
