Windows 11 doesn't show how much battery minutes are remaining

Hello,

I recently got a new Surface Laptop GO and upgraded it to windows 11. When I was on Windows 10 it showed how many minutes on the battery were remaining, but when I upgraded to windows 11 it didn't show anymore. Is there a way to show this or will it be coming in a future update?

Enable or Disable Show Battery Estimated Time Remaining in Windows 11 Tutorial | Windows 11 Forum (elevenforum.com) - use at your own risk, however Shawn's tutorials are used by lots of advanced users. Be sure to back up the registry first.

    Hello thanks for the reply,

I meant the feature where it says how much minutes are remaining on the battery when you click the battery icon in the task bar on windows 10.

    Here is a example:

On my laptop(windows 11) when I hover the mouse over the battery icon it only says the percentage. It does not say how much time is remaining. Even if I go to setting it still only tells me the battery percentage, not the time remaining.

    Thanks 😊

    Hi imbuiltdif,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

I would like to make sure first that we get the exact picture of the concern. Do you mean the feature on Windows 10 where it would show the remaining battery percentage when you hover the mouse on the battery icon at the Taskbar or when you click the icon? Or do you mean that back on Windows 10, you have the batter percentage always showing on the battery icon at the Taskbar?

I would also like to confirm on the current behavior on Windows 11 on your Surface Laptop Go, when you hover the mouse on the battery icon, it does not show the remaining battery percentage, correct? Or it does show the percentage but not the estimated amount of time left and also when you go to Windows Settings > System > Power & battery, it shows the percentage but bot the estimated time below?

    Kind regards,
    Marrion
