Connecting two external monitors to a Surface Pro 7 using the USB-C connection

Attempted connecting two external monitors to a SurfacePro 7, recommendations from experts on the Microsoft community recommended the only way is to use a Microsoft USB-C Travel Hub for Business - so I ordered one from the Microsoft online shop $150, got it 36hrs later and hooked it up - tried many ways to achieve the required result but no luck.

I ordered a Selore & S-Global 2in1 USB-C Adapter (USB-C to Dual HDMI Adapter) from Amazon $34, got it 48hrs later - plugged it in (plug and play features - just remember to connect cables from monitors to the adapter then to your SurfacePro), pressed Windows-P and selected 'Extend Screen' and had two external monitors that I can drag my various files across either of them.

There are many other adapters out there, just be sure that they feature DP Alt Mode over USB Type-C so they're compatible with your SurfacePro.

Hope this helps others and saves you lots of money... P.S. I have a cheap Microsoft USB-C Travel Hub for sale hahaha...

    Hi Marrion, appreciate tour prompt feedback on the MS USB-C Travel Hub and the link that clearly demonstrates that only one external port functions at any one time and furthermore, one can't even utilize the USB-C port on the adaptor to power an external screen.

    I believe it would be prudent of Microsoft to include that link your kindly provided on the store page that promotes this Travel Hub as that is your actual point of sale.

    Please check the following store link, it clearly makes no mention whatsoever of the minimal functions on offer in either the Overview or Tech Specs dropdowns.

    I believe that the MS Store misleads individuals on the capabilities of this overpriced adaptor.

    Thank you also for sharing the fix that you found which is to get the Selore & S-Global 2in1 USB-C Adapter and glad to know that you are now able to use two external monitors on your Surface Pro 7.

    For the Surface USB-C Travel Hub, it is only capable of supporting one external monitor at a time. You can’t use the VGA and HDMI ports at the same time. Also, the USB-C port doesn’t support video out or laptop charging, so you won’t be able to use it to connect to an external display or to charge your PC.
