I have a surface studio 2 with a slim pen cradle first generation and have found plenty of posts stating that you need to update the cradle's firmware.. yet nowhere to find the update itself

    Hi Branden McClain,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Just to confirm; you have a Surface Slim Pen 2 and it is not charging on your Surface Slim Charger, correct?

Update for the firmware of the charging accessory of your Surface Slim Pen 2 is delivered only through Windows Updates. Kindly follow these steps below to do the firmware update: How to charge your Surface Slim Pen - Microsoft Support

    1. Connect your Surface Slim Pen charging accessory to your Surface.
      • If you're using the Surface Slim Pen charger, connect it to the USB-A port on your Surface (if it has one).
    2. Place your pen in the charging area.
    3. Select StartSettingsWindows UpdatesCheck for updates, then install any available updates.
    4. Keep your accessory connected until the update finishes. You might need to restart your PC.

I've done this a few times on various devices. Both my Surface Studio 2 and my Surface Pro 7 are updated and there's been no resolve in charging the Pen
