Windows 11 Slow Start Up

I have a pretty new Surface Pro 8 on Windows 11.

I've noticed that lately, after I 'sleep' the computer with the power button. When I go to start the computer back up, it will take a long time, and then subsequently go onto the dark, blank screen with the Windows logo and a blue loading ring beneath it (like if there were updates being installed).

However, this is happening every time now, and I don't understand why updates are being installed every time I'm just getting the computer in and out of sleep. Any help is appreciated!

    Hi,

I'm not sure if it was meant to create a totally new thread or to continue.

I had completed the aforementioned steps, and completed a USB recovery of the device. However, I am still running into the same issue, which is that frequently upon start up from sleep, the device requires some sort of loading (black screen with Windows logo and a blue loading ring underneath the logo) screen, when all updates are said to be up to date prior to this happening. I was wondering what the next step in the troubleshooting process would be?

    Cheers,

    Fred

    Hi Guinneth,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you'd like to use the device anytime or after you turn on the device from sleep without any issue.

Try to go to Reliability history. Go to search > search Reliability History. This will give you information if the device has shutdown errors or etc. If there are errors shown, you can also send picture in this post.

Please also perform the methods below:

    - Check the settings for remaining Windows Update and run the  Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.

    • Run the System File Checker.
    • Install the drivers package manually. Check the specific OS build of your Windows SettingsSystemAboutDownload the driver and firmware for Surface, choose Surface Pro 8 and click download on the next page. Please choose the .msi file that matches your current OS Build and click Next. After the download, runand installthe .msi then Restart the Surface Device.

Looking forward to your next reply.
