Hi KatalinP,
I totally disagree. If this is corporate policy, it is utterly unacceptable. I have around 15 year old Sennheiser HD650 and just ordered new original earpads. Sure, those aren't cheap at 40€ either, but available and only needed every 3 years or so.
Contrast that to my Microsoft Surface Headphones 2 experience. Instead of being able to just buy them on Amazon in 20 seconds, I have already wasted 30-60 minutes in vain searching for replacement earpads, dealing with the horrible Microsoft interface. Just put them on Amazon in an official store. This is a company that does not want to help.
I actually really like the product itself. Which is why I bought them and use them. I even recently considered buying a Microsoft laptop. And would have loved to see a more high end Headphones 3 version. But alas, the company has shown that it does not plan for the long run. Consider that the "2+ for business" headphones have only been released in August 2022, less than 1,5 years ago. And they have the same earpads. Yet those too are affected.
Companies like Microsoft need a big red button labelled "something is seriously wrong here" that customers can push somewhere. Because frankly, I feel totally lost in the bureaucracy of this monster organization. edit: I've contacted support and they will try to find a solution within a few days. So let's see.
But still. Overall I'll go to other brands in the future. MS has a gigantic bureaucracy. It's not at all efficient.
