bluetooth mouse problem

ok so basically I had a surface-go that broke, so I got a new one but the mouse I had was still connected to it, and I haven't used the mouse for over a year because I had no clue how to pair it to a different device. I've searched up a few solutions to the problem and none have worked, mainly because I've been given the wrong results. I could only find one solution that was to a microsoft mouse and that was holding the bluetooth button down for 3 - 5 seconds then attempting to pair it to a device, although that result was for the mouse not turning on. I've replaced the batteries, tried to pair it and I think I tried to reset it by holding down the bluetooth button because there arent any small reset buttons on the mouse based off what I've seen. the mouse I'm using is this one: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/microsoft-modern-bluetooth-mouse-pastel-blue-msmodmsebu?scrollTop=false

are there any fixes? if so then thank you so much.

read over this and there is no clear question, basically just 2 questions, how do I pair a mouse that is already connected to another device that broke so I cannot turn it on to disconnect it

and how do I make my mouse turn on? (after I replaced batteries too)

    Hi Olly Simmons,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. We're sorry to know if your Microsoft Modern Bluetooth mouse stopped working.

Microsoft Modern Mobile Mouse are designed to work anywhere. The mouse has a shared power and Bluetooth pairing button located on the bottom. Press the button once to turn the mouse on or off. For Bluetooth pairing, press and hold the button to put the mouse in discovery mode. LED light starts to flash when mouse is in pairing mode and will stop flashing if its already paired on your device.

In your case, since the mouse no longer turns on when pressing the power button and replacing the battery also didn't work. This is more like a hardware problem on the mouse itself. Your mouse needs a replacement. We recommend contacting our live support team to check options for your Microsoft Modern mouse. You may contact them using the Surface App on your Surface Go device following the instructions below.

    1. Go to Contact Us - Microsoft Support and select Devices.

    Wishing you all the best!

    Kind regards,

    Lavenia
