Connecting a Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard to Surface Pro

I have a Microsoft bluetooth keyboard that I'm trying to connect to my Surface Pro. The keyboard does not have a bluetooth button, a power switch, or FN key It has a CTRL, Windows key (that looks like the Windows 10 logo) and ALT key. There is no label on the keyboard. It has Microsoft etched in the upper right cornel of the keyboard but it is the same color as the keyboad (it is not white like many of the ones I have found online) It takes two AAA batteries in a compartment that is on the bottom, in the middle of the top edge. Thanks in advance for the help

I have exact samm problem. There are no buttons on the bottom of my keyboard so I seem to have no way of pairing it with my new Surface Pro 9, even though I purchased the keyboard from Microsoft.

    Hi TG Labrecque,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on the description you posted, it seems that you have an issue with Surface Pro9 wherein the Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard is not connecting to the device.

To connect your Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard to your Surface Pro, please follow these steps:

    1. Turn on Bluetooth on your Surface Pro by going to Settings >Bluetooth and device and toggling the switch to On.
    2. Press and hold the Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard until the LED light on the keyboard starts flashing. That is located in the right part of the battery compartment.
    3. On your Surface Pro, click on "Add device" and select "Bluetooth".
    4. Your Surface Pro will start searching for available Bluetooth devices. When you see "Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard" appear on the list, click on it to connect.
    5. Your Surface Pro will prompt you to enter a pairing code. Type in the code displayed on your Surface Pro using the keyboard and press Enter.
    6. Your keyboard should now be connected to your Surface Pro. You can test it by typing in a text field.

I hope this helps resolve your issue. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Kind regards,

    Christopher.
