I have tried doing that but I am not able to find WhatsApp under Camera and microphone settings under privacy.
I am not able to make video and audio calls from WhatsApp Desktop app on my Surface Laptop 3
As per the Whatsapp recent update, we can make video or audio calls from the desktop app but I cannot do this and it says " Whatsapp cannot find a connected device" Can some one assist me with this issue,

2021-03-22T23:20:19+00:00 Hello PavanTeja5,
Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community and posting your concern here.
In this case, Privacy settings on your device may not be enabled for WhatsApp and needs a permission. Please try to enable it by going to Settings > Privacy. On the left panel, look and select for Camera and Microphone. On the right side, find WhatsApp and make sure that camera and microphone are both toggled enable and allow for the app.
Let me know how it goes by simply replying on this thread.

2021-06-17T18:48:59+00:00 Yes, solution was only termporal. After I restarted my pc issue reappeared. Honestly I think it is a design issue in the Whatsapp Desktop application. There should be a menu where one could configure the device before the call, because the sound device can only be configured during during the call, but call cannot be started if there is no device selected.
